Arsenal ‘best placed’ to sign Lille star Ayyoub Bouaddi
Arsenal are reportedly ‘best placed’ to sign LOSC Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, as per TEAMtalk.
After coming through Les Dogues’s youth system, the 18-year-old made his first team debut in 2023 before establishing himself as a key starter last term.
He helped his side qualify for next season’s Champions League by finishing third in Ligue 1. After proving his worth in club football, he has secured his place in the Morocco national team’s starting line-up, guiding his country to reach the World Cup knockout stage.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that after monitoring his performances closely, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain have all registered their interest in signing him.
Los Blancos and the Reds have even made contact to learn about the details of signing him. However, Arsenal are ‘continuing to push strongly’ to purchase the youngster.
The Gunners have been keeping a close eye on his development over the last few years and are currently ‘best placed’ to secure his service by defeating other clubs in this race.
Having recently tied him down to a fresh term with 2029, Lille are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they decide to cash-in on him and want around £60m.
Bouaddi is set to focus on the World Cup with Morocco over the coming weeks and will decide on his next club once his journey in the tournament comes to an end.
Bouaddi to Arsenal
Arsenal decided to revamp the midfield department by purchasing Christian Norgaard and Martin Zubimendi last summer. However, the Dane struggled to break into Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up last term, while the Spaniard lost his place in the first XI during the business end.
Therefore, Arteta decided to deploy Declan Rice and Myles Lewis-Skelly in crucial matches, as Mikel Merino struggled with fitness problems.
Bouaddi is a defensive midfielder by trait and possesses the necessary physical attributes to flourish in the Premier League. So, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services in this transfer window.
