Arsenal plotting audacious swoop to sign Real Madrid star Endrick
Arsenal are closely monitoring Real Madrid centre-forward Endrick ahead of a potential move to the Emirates Stadium next summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
While still at Palmeiras, Endrick was widely regarded as one of the most coveted young prospects in world football.
At just 16 years, two months, and 16 days, he made history as the club’s youngest-ever debutant, featuring in a 4–0 victory over Coritiba in October 2022.
Soon after, he scored in the 3–1 win against Athletico Paranaense, becoming Palmeiras’ youngest-ever goalscorer — a moment he celebrated by mimicking Erling Haaland’s iconic celebration.
He added a further 21 goals for the Brazilian side before completing a high-profile move to Madrid in the summer of 2024.
However, his time in Spain did not unfold as expected, with limited opportunities totalling just 946 minutes before he secured a loan move to Olympique Lyonnais in January in search of regular action.
Since joining the seven-time French champions, he has quickly become a key figure, providing 14 goal contributions in 18 appearances, including ten goal involvements in just 13 Ligue 1 matches this season, which will likely see his value skyrocket above his £30m Transfermarkt valuation this summer.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Endrick’s performances for Lyon have piqued the interest of several top European clubs, including Arsenal.
Endrick to Arsenal
The report adds that the Premier League leaders are closely monitoring the Brazilian international ahead of a possible summer transfer to the Emirates Stadium.
While the 19-year-old is expected to return to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season, the North Londoners are prepared to submit a formal offer should Madrid make him available for sale, according to the Spanish outlet.
Arsenal may have faltered in recent games, but they’ll head into the crucial month of May hoping to clinch at least one of the Premier League or UEFA Champions League titles.
They now face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday to equal their longest ever streak without defeat in a European competition, having failed to lose any of their 12 games in the ongoing campaign (W10, D2).
Although Mikel Arteta was not involved as a player in the 2005 side that reached the final after a 13-game unbeaten run, he’ll be hoping to replicate that feat as a coach when his side faces two-time Champions League finalist Atletico at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Arteta will also be hoping to replicate another dominant win against Atletico after inflicting their joint-heaviest defeat in the Champions League with a convincing 4-0 win at the Emirates.
