Arsenal in fierce battle to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

By on March 11, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly in a fierce battle with Premier League rivals over a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The Gunners currently have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard as options to deploy on the left flank. However, the Brazilian has struggled in the Premier League this season, although he has showcased his goal-scoring prowess in cup competitions.

He has netted only once in 24 appearances in the English top flight but has scored 10 goals in 14 matches in cup tournaments. With his existing deal set to expire at the end of next season, speculation surrounding his future has started emerging ahead of the upcoming summer window.

On the other hand, Trossard has also displayed inconsistent performances, failing to put his name on the scoresheet across all competitions this year.

The Belgian is set to turn 32 later this year and has entered the final 15 months of his current contract. So, it appears Mikel Arteta is considering upgrading the left flank during the offseason.

Fichajes state that Arsenal have identified Kvaratskhelia as a serious option to strengthen the attacking department and have been monitoring his performances closely before making a potential swoop.

The player is valued at around £78m and still has a contract until 2029. So, the North London club will have to splash big money to persuade Les Parisiens to cash-in on him.

Kvaratskhelia to Arsenal

The report claim that apart from Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are also keen on purchasing the Georgia international, meaning Arteta’s side will have to overcome fierce competition to finalise the operation.

Kvaratskhelia is a technically gifted right-footed left-winger but is also efficient on the opposite side. He has showcased his qualities at the highest level in recent years, winning Serie A with Napoli and lifting both the Champions League and Ligue 1 with PSG. The forward has made 14 goal contributions in 33 appearances across all competitions thus far this season.

The 25-year-old is currently at the prime stage of his career and would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club eventually manage to secure his services by defeating the Premier League rivals in this race.
