Predicted Arsenal line-up against Chelsea
Arsenal are set to host city rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in a crucial Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon.
After thrashing arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 last weekend, the Gunners extended their lead at the top of the table to five points, although they have played one extra game.
On the other hand, Chelsea are currently fifth in the league with 45 points from 27 matches, sitting three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
Arsenal have already played three times against the Blues in two different competitions this season, winning twice and drawing the other one.
Team news
Kai Havertz has been out due to a muscular problem in recent matches, but is set to train ahead of this game. So, he should be fit enough to be involved.
Ben White picked up a knock against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup encounter earlier this month, so he was unavailable last weekend and is in doubt vs Chelsea.
Max Dowman has also recovered from his injury but is unlikely to feature in this game. However, Mikel Merino isn’t in contention to be involved due to his injury.
Predicted line-up
David Raya is set to be in goal, with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes likely to be the centre-back pairing for the North London club. Jurrien Timber and Piero Hincapié should be the two fullbacks.
So, Cristhian Mosquera, Riccardo Calafiori, and Myles Lewis-Skelly would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Martin Zubimendi is expected to be the deep-lying playmaker, and Declan Rice would be alongside the Spaniard. Martin Odegaard might be the creative midfielder, so Eberechi Eze would have to settle for a place on the bench despite scoring a brace vs Tottenham.
Bukayo Saka should commence on the right flank, while Leandro Trossard is likely to be on the opposite side. Viktor Gyokeres is set to keep hold of his place in the No.9 role after scoring a brace vs the Lilywhites.
Therefore, Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus might feature as substitutes for the Gunners if needed.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Chelsea:
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapié, Zubimendi, Rice, Eze; Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard
