Arsenal target Manchester United’s Kobe Mainoo

By on November 21, 2025

Arsenal are eyeing a stunning swoop on Manchester United to lure midfielder Kobe Mainoo to North London, according to Defensa Central.

The Gunners already have several quality options in midfield, but they continue to prioritise strengthening the squad.

Adding Mainoo could provide extra cover and allow the team to manage the workload across a long Premier League season.

A January move could help reduce pressure on key players like Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi.

Mainoo has seen limited action under Ruben Amorim this season at Manchester United. His lack of playing time has led him to consider a loan move away from Old Trafford in search of regular football.

As per the report, both Arsenal and the player appear keen on making a temporary move happen in the January window.

Manchester United are reportedly open to the loan arrangement, which could make negotiations relatively straightforward.

Other clubs monitor Mainoo

Arsenal are not alone in tracking Mainoo’s progress this season, as several top European sides are showing interest.

As per Defensa Central, Real Madrid have been strongly linked with a move for the English midfielder, adding competition to the situation.

Napoli are also believed to be interested in Mainoo, following the path of former United midfielder Scott McTominay recent moves abroad.

The Serie A club may see Mainoo as a similar type of player who can adapt quickly to a new environment.

According to Transfermarkt, Mainoo is valued at approximately £40 million. Despite this valuation, the player is primarily assessing a loan move for now, rather than a permanent transfer.

A temporary arrangement would allow him to gain valuable experience while keeping future options open.

Arsenal’s interest in Mainoo aligns with their strategy of recruiting young, talented midfielders capable of impacting games immediately.

For the January window, Arsenal could decide to act quickly to secure Mainoo on loan. The move would give the Gunners additional depth and also provide Mainoo the chance to play regular minutes at a top club.
