Arsenal suffer huge Noni Madueke injury blow

By on September 22, 2025

Arsenal have suffered a huge blow as Noni Madueke has sustained a knee injury during the high-voltage Premier League encounter against Manchester City yesterday.

The Gunners have already struggled with numerous injury problems at this early stage of this season. Gabriel Jesus has been sidelined since picking up a serious knee issue in January.

Moreover, Kai Havertz has been out over the last few weeks owing to a knee injury and isn’t expected to return anytime soon. On the other hand, Christian Norgaard, Ben White, Bukayo Saka, and William Saliba have all had injury concerns in recent times; thankfully, they have all returned to their full fitness.

However, Martin Odegaard has been struggling with a shoulder injury, which he initially sustained against Leeds United last month. The injury has seemingly aggravated during the Nottingham Forest game; as a result, he couldn’t feature in the last two games.

Now, Madueke has sustained a fresh injury. On X, journalist Ben Jacobs says that the former Chelsea star has picked up a knee injury against Man City, and because of that, he was taken off at the interval.

The tests are ongoing to determine the extent of his injury, but he is expected to remain sidelined for several weeks. It was initially feared that the forward may have suffered an ACL injury; thankfully, that isn’t the case.

“Noni Madueke set for a spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury sustained against Manchester City. Timeline for return still unclear as tests ongoing. However, Madueke has not done his ACL, despite rumours.”

Since moving to the Emirates Stadium from Chelsea for a £52m fee this summer, Madueke has enjoyed a bright start. He was given the responsibility of filling Saka’s void amid his hamstring problem, and the former Chelsea star did the job extremely well.

Saka has managed to return, but his compatriot has sustained an injury. As a result, Mikel Arteta has been left with the Hale End graduate as the only option for the right flank.

Therefore, Saka will have to play most of the upcoming games. Max Dowman is an option for this area, but he is still just 15. On the other hand, Ethan Nwaneri played on the right flank amid Saka’s hamstring problem last season.
