Arsenal boss Arteta lauds Trossard for his versatility

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Leandro Trossard after the forward’s impressive display in a crucial victory over newly promoted side, Burnley last weekend.
After signing the Belgian from Brighton and Hove Albion in a £25m deal last winter, Arteta has been using him as a squad player. So, the 28-year-old doesn’t get first-team action on a regular basis, however, he has managed to showcase his talent whenever he has been given the opportunity.
Trossard has been playing regularly in recent games owing to the injury absence of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, and he has managed to put his name on the scoresheet in the last couple of encounters.
After scoring a goal against Sevilla in the Champions League last week, the forward helped his side overcome the challenge of Burnley on Saturday by scoring a goal and registering an assist.
So, speaking on his post-match press-conference after the game against Burnley, Arteta has heaped praise on Trossard and also says that the Belgian has a ‘top mentality’ and his ‘approach’ has been extremely good.

The Gunners’ boss further claims that Trossard is happy to play anywhere across the frontline and he can hurt the opposition’s defence from any position. So, Arteta says he is very happy with the 28-year-old’s impact.
Arteta said:
“I’m very happy with him. Top approach, top mentality. I think every time you ask him to play, whether it’s wide or as a nine, it flows and he’s a real threat, so I’m really happy with him.”
Although Trossard has done well for Arsenal over the last few months, he hasn’t been able to push Gabriel Martinelli or Bukayo Saka for the first-team squad.
Arteta would ideally like to have a player – who would be able to keep Martinelli and Saka on their toes and knock on the door to break into the starting eleven. But, Trossard hasn’t been able to do that.
Therefore, the North London club might want to sign a new top-class attacker in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce their attacking department and challenge on all fronts going forward.
