Arsenal ready to reignite interest in Juventus star Vlahovic
Arsenal are reportedly ready to rekindle their interest in signing Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic this summer, as per Football Insider.
Despite already having Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard and Falorin Balogun – who is set to return after a successful loan spell in Ligue 1 – in the squad, it has been suggested that Mikel Arteta is planning to bring in a proven goal-scorer to beef up their attacking department for next season.
They have been linked with several options ahead of the summer window with Vlahovic emerging as a serious target. The north London club hold a long-term interest in the Serbian as they were keen on purchasing him 15 months ago after being impressed by his performances for Fiorentina, but the player decided to join Juventus so Arsenal missed out on signing him last time around.
But, according to the report by Football Insider, Arsenal remain interested in Vlahovic and they have identified him as the primary target to strengthen their striker position so the Gunners are planning to revive their interest in signing the Juventus star this summer.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
The report further claims that Arsenal are also looking at Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a backup option if they fail to secure Vlahovic’s signature.
Football Insider also says that Arsenal could cash-in on Balogun to raise funds for the Vlahovic deal and they are expected to demand a fee of more than £30m to let him leave.
It has previously been reported that Vlahovic has become frustrated at the Allianz Arena and is keen on moving away from the Bianconeri at the end of this season. The report also suggested that Juventus are ready to let the former Fiorentina man leave if the player’s potential suitors such as Arsenal match their £70m valuation this summer.
So, Arsenal will have to dig deep to secure Vlahovic’s signature if they decide to make a concrete approach to sign him during the off-season.
Vlahovic is strong, good in the air, efficient in link-up play, can finish off his chances and also works extremely hard without possession. So, he would certainly bolster the North London club’s attacking department if they manage to get this deal over the line.
