Unai Emery’s Arsenal face a stern test when we head to Anfield to take on European champions Liverpool on Saturday evening.

We kicked off the 2019/20 Premier League season with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park before seeing-off a stubborn Burnley side 2-1 at the Emirates last weekend with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting the winning goals in both game.

It means Arsenal have won their first two league matches for the first time in 10 years and we sit level at the top of the table so there is certainly reason to be optimistic heading to Merseyside tomorrow.

However, Liverpool are the only other club to have registered two wins so far this season and Arsenal have a dreadful record at Anfield in recent years having lost 5-1, 4-0 and 3-1 in our past three meetings so Emery needs to improve upon that record this weekend.

Betting odds

Liverpool head into the match as the 8/15 favourites to win the game while Arsenal can be backed at odds of 9/2. Even the most die hard Arsenal fans know this will be a tough game but 9/2 are tempting odds if you fancy an upset. Many Gunners fans would take a draw right now and that is available at 18/5 – which looks a decent bet considering our impressive start to the new campaign.

Betting tips

Those fans that are interested in weekend btts and win tips will be casting an eye over this game as we expect goals at Anfield. Liverpool vs Arsenal never fails to entertain as there has been goal aplenty in this fixture over the years.

Liverpool have one of the best attacks in Europe and Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have all scored in this fixture over the past two years so the hosts will be confident of scoring at least twice tomorrow. However, Arsenal have built a front three that can arguably rival Liverpool’s as Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have the potential to be just as formidable up front for the Gunners.

With so much firepower on the pitch it’s hard not to see both teams scoring so 1/2 on BTTS looks a nailed on bet while over 3.5 goals at 11/10 is also a strong bet for this match.

Most pundits are going for a Liverpool win but I have a feeling Arsenal will make a real game of this and hopefully we can snatch a 2-2 draw. That scoreline can be backed at odds of 12/1 while I also like the look of Aubameyang to score last at 13/2.
