Arsenal considering signing Everton star Iliman Ndiaye

Arsenal are reportedly considering making a late swoop to sign Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, as per talkSPORT.

Since joining the Toffees from Olympique de Marseille a couple of years ago, the 26-year-old has established himself as an undisputed starter. Although he isn’t a prolific attacker, his overall performances have been impressive in recent seasons.

During the 2024/25 campaign, the forward scored 11 goals and made nine goal contributions in 34 appearances across all competitions last season.

He has even enjoyed a bright start this term, registering an assist in two matches. Having proven his worth in club football, Ndiaye has secured his place in the Senegal national team.

Now, talkSPORT report that Arsenal are considering strengthening the frontline late in this window and have identified Atlético Madrid star Julian Alvarez as the dream target.

However, the Argentinian international is prioritising joining Barcelona. So, the Gunners have earmarked Ndiaye as a serious option if they fail to lure Alvarez to the Emirates Stadium.

However, the report state that Arsenal will have to overcome fierce competition to seal the deal as Manchester City are also interested in him after letting Omar Marmoush and Savio join Tottenham Hotspur.

Ndiaye to Arsenal

The African came close to joining Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal earlier this summer but a deal eventually fell through.

With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029, Everton are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they are forced to cash-in and want around £80m.

Ndiaye is a right-footed versatile forward as he is comfortable on either flank. He is quick, strong, technically sound, and can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas.

Moreover, he can finish off his chances, is efficient at taking penalties, can create opportunities for fellow attackers, and works hard without possession. He is a talented player and is currently at the prime stage of his career.

So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to lure him away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium before the end of this transfer window.
