Arsenal hold long-standing interest in Kenan Yildiz
Arsenal reportedly hold a long-standing interest in Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, as per The Athletic.
The 21-year-old started his youth career at Sallern Regensburg before spending a very brief spell with Jahn Regensburg. He joined Bayern Munich’s youth system at the age of seven.
After coming through their academy, the youngster left for free and joined the Bianconeri back in 2022. He made his first-team debut for Juventus the following year before establishing himself as an undisputed starter in recent years.
Last season, Yildiz showcased his productivity, scoring 11 goals and registering nine assists in 47 appearances across all competitions. Moreover, he helped his side qualify for the Europa League.
Having proven his worth in club football, the youngster has secured his place in the Turkish national team’s starting line-up.
Now, The Athletic report that Arsenal are planning to reinforce the frontline in this window and hold a long-standing interest in the Turkish international.
Moreover, the Gunners are keen on signing Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez. Mikel Arteta’s side are waiting to see whether Alvarez or Yildiz become available over the coming weeks.
Yildiz to Arsenal
Having recently tied Yildiz down to a fresh long-term contract until 2030, the Bianconeri aren’t in any rush to sell him this summer, with the player valued at around £64m by Transfermarkt.
He is a right-footed left-winger by trait but is also efficient in the creative midfield position. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and can score emphatic goals from distance.
Moreover, he is efficient in creating opportunities for fellow attackers and works hard without possession. So, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his services before the end of this transfer window.
Meanwhile, after cashing-in on Leandro Trossard, Arsenal have already purchased Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge. Moreover, the Emirates club currently have Gabriel Martinelli as an option to deploy on the left flank.
However, he has displayed inconsistent performances in recent years and has entered the final 12 months of his current contract.
