Arsenal could reportedly make a move to sign Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, as per Football Insider.

After winning the Premier League title last term, the Gunners have already signed Illan Meslier, Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis to reinforce the squad this summer.

However, it has been suggested that Mikel Arteta wants to add more firepower, and signing a new left winger is one of his priorities despite already purchasing Tzolis.

Initially, Arsenal attempted to buy Morgan Rogers before Chelsea won the race. They even launched an ambitious swoop for Vinicius Junior, but he has decided to stay at Real Madrid by signing a fresh term.

So, it appears Arsenal have now shifted focus to alternative options, and Football Insider state that the Gunners hold a long-standing interest in Ndiaye. They could even make a move for him over the coming weeks.

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal attempted to sign the Senegal international in this window, but he has turned down the opportunity to move to the Middle East in favour of staying in the Premier League.

However, Ndiaye is ready to leave to take the next step in his career and wants to play in the Champions League. Everton are preparing to let him leave for around £75m, with his existing deal set to run until 2029.

Ndiaye to Arsenal

The report state that Arsenal will have to overcome stiff competition to finalise the operation as Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are also in this race. However, Spurs won’t be playing Champions League football this season.

Ndiaye is a left-winger by trait but is also efficient on the opposite side. He is quick, strong, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and also works hard without possession.

The 26-year-old has shown glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League in recent years and has secured his place in the Senegal national team.

He has even enjoyed a promising pre-season, scoring twice in three appearances. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services during this offseason.
