Arsenal ready to submit formal offer to sign Boca Junior starlet Tomas Aranda

By on July 7, 2026

Arsenal are preparing a formal offer to sign highly rated Boca Juniors attacking midfielder Tomas Aranda this summer, according to Parma Live.

Aranda progressed through the Boca Juniors academy before making his debut on January 28, 2026, in a 2–1 Primera División match against Estudiantes de La Plata.

Dubbed the ‘new Lionel Messi’, the 19-year-old has featured 22 times for Boca, providing four goal contributions. Although naturally an attacking midfielder, he is willing to compete physically, evident in his impressive ability to win duels.

He has arguably been unfortunate not to record more assists, having created the second-most big chances of any Boca player during the 2026 campaign, with five so far.

His rapid progress earned him a senior Argentina debut in a friendly victory over Honduras in June. Despite being omitted from Lionel Scaloni’s 26-man World Cup squad, the youngster’s potential suggests he could become one of Argentina’s next-generation stars.

It’s no surprise he is now attracting keen interest from clubs in Europe, with Parma Live reporting that Arsenal have shown a ‘serious’ interest in signing Aranda ahead of Serie A side Parma.

It appears the Gunners are looking to sign him swiftly, as the Italian outlet adds that the Premier League champions are ready to submit a £17m formal offer to sign the attacking midfielder this summer.

The ‘new Lionel Messi’

Looking at Aranda’s statistics, it is easy to understand why the Premier League champions are willing to spend double figures to sign him.

The Argentine has recorded 2.7 successful dribbles per 90, the most by any current Boca player, while his 14 created chances rank third in the squad.

Defensively, the exciting prodigy works tirelessly off the ball, as evidenced by his 8.6 recoveries per 90 minutes, an outstanding figure for an attacking midfielder.

A move for Aranda fits Arsenal’s recent recruitment strategy, which has also emphasised signing exciting prospects for the club’s future.

Over the last two transfer windows, several youngsters, including Jaden Dixon, Evan Mooney, Edwin Quintero and Holger Quintero, have been signed for the club’s youth ranks, while some Hale End academy players like Max Dowman, Ife Ibrahim, Marli Solomon and several others made their first-team debuts last season.

Should Parma accept Arsenal’s proposed £17m offer, Aranda would be another exciting addition to the club’s growing crop of future talent.
