Arsenal plot swoop to sign Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz

By on June 11, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz, as per Turkish outlet Fanatik.

After moving to Rams Park Stadyumu from Keciorengucu back in 2021, the 26-year-old initially took time to settle into his new surroundings before establishing himself as a key starter in recent campaigns.

The forward has enjoyed great success with Cimbom over the last few years, winning four Super Lig titles and a couple of major domestic cup competitions.

Last season, he showcased his productivity, scoring 10 goals and registering 12 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. After proving his worth in club football, Yilmaz has secured his place in the Turkish national team’s starting line-up and is set to play a key role for his country in this World Cup.

Now, Fanatik report that after being impressed by Yilmaz’s recent promising performances, Arsenal have registered their interest in him and are preparing to launch a formal £43m proposal to seal the deal.

With the player set to enter the final two years of his current contract, Galatasaray might be open to cashing-in on him during this offseason to make the most profit out of his departure.

Yilmaz is a versatile forward as he is comfortable on either flank and can provide cover in the centre-forward position if needed. He is quick, strong, can create opportunities for fellow attackers, and also works hard without possession.

Yilmaz to Arsenal

Leandro Trossard has been the first-choice left-winger for Arsenal, and Gabriel Martinelli plays as the Belgian’s deputy. However, they displayed average performances last term, although Mikel Arteta’s side won the Premier League title.

So, the Spanish boss is reportedly keen on upgrading the left flank this summer. A plethora of names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with Rafael Leao, Morgan Rogers, and Marcus Rashford being among them.

However, Yilmaz is now emerging as a new serious option. He is a talented player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. So, the Galatasaray star might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they eventually opt to secure his service this summer.
