Arsenal reach £52m deal to sign Chelsea star Madueke

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign winger Noni Madueke in a deal worth over £52million including add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners identified the 23-year-old as a surprise target and acted quickly to get the deal done before other clubs could show serious interest.
Discussions over personal terms were completed last week, with the player giving his approval for a move across London.
Talks between both clubs over a transfer fee progressed over the past few days, and an agreement has now been finalised.
Madueke is currently with Chelsea in the United States for their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, but that has not stopped progress on the deal.
He will sign a five-year contract at the Emirates and will become the sixth player to join Arsenal from Chelsea since Mikel Arteta became manager.
The England international scored 11 goals and provided five assists in all competitions last season for Chelsea.
Arsenal want depth in wide areas
Arsenal have been searching for a new attacker who can provide cover for Bukayo Saka, but also play on the left if needed.
Madueke’s ability to play on either flank made him an appealing option for Arteta, who values tactical flexibility in forward positions.
The Gunners have already secured deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard this summer.
Madueke will now become the fourth player through the door at Arsenal during the current window as Arteta looks to strengthen his squad further.
The winger is seen as a long-term option who can grow under Arteta and push for a regular place in the starting eleven.
Once his medical is completed and final paperwork sorted, an official announcement from both clubs is expected soon.
The move adds to Arsenal’s growing list of smart transfer dealings as they continue to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts next season.
