Arsenal submit formal bid to sign Noni Madueke

Arsenal have reportedly submitted a formal proposal to sign Chelsea forward Noni Madueke, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have signed several players from the Blues in recent years, with David Luiz, Willian, Jorginho, and Kai Havertz being among them. More recently, they have signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, but Mikel Arteta is planning to continue doing business with the city rival.
On X, Romano reports that Arsenal are willing to bolster the wide forward position and have identified Madueke as the primary target. Having agreed on a five-year deal with the player, they have now submitted a formal £50m bid, including bonuses, to seal the deal.
However, Chelsea want more than £50m in a fixed fee to sell the youngster, seeking a figure similar to what Newcastle United paid for Anthony Elanga.
Arsenal have a good relationship with Chelsea, having already done several deals in recent years, and the player has already agreed on personal terms with Arteta’s side.
Romano wrote:
“Arsenal have submitted initial bid for Noni Madueke around £50m package, add-ons included. Chelsea want more than £50m fixed as Elanga/similar deals remain their reference. Good relationship between clubs as talks continue, Madueke agreed terms with Arsenal.”
Madueke to Arsenal
Madueke is a left-footed right winger by trait like Bukayo Saka; however, the Chelsea man can also be deployed on the opposite side. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and has the ability to create opportunities for fellow attackers.
The 23-year-old started 27 Premier League matches last term, scoring seven goals and registering three assists. Additionally, he helped his side win the Conference League and has guided them to reach the final of the Club World Cup.
Arteta has been keen on signing a new backup option to Saka for a few years and previously attempted to purchase Raphinha but failed to do so. The player eventually joined Barcelona and enjoyed a stellar campaign last term.
Madueke is a talented player and possesses high potential, but he can be inconsistent at times. Moreover, Enzo Maresca has raised concerns about his attitude multiple times last term.
Therefore, Arsenal need to be very careful before finalising a deal to secure his service in this transfer window.
