Arsenal make first move for Bayern star Kingsley Coman
Arsenal are planning ahead of the summer window and have identified Kingsley Coman as a key target.
The Gunners are pushing for more strength in attack after another likely title setback under Mikel Arteta.
According to Florian Plettenberg, the club have already contacted Coman’s camp over a possible summer move.
Coman is no longer a regular starter at Bayern Munich. He has made only 11 league starts this season.
Although still under contract until 2027, the winger is expected to leave this summer.
Saudi Arabian clubs are also keeping tabs on the Frenchman, who could be tempted by the wages on offer.
Despite limited minutes, Coman has managed six goals and four assists across all competitions.
Reports suggest Bayern are willing to let him leave and are already searching for replacements.
Coman has fallen behind other wide options at Bayern, including Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala.
Gunners face Saudi competition in race for Coman
Arsenal want to take advantage of Coman’s situation and add more depth to their forward line.
The 27-year-old is currently valued at around £30 million (transfermarkt), which makes him a relatively affordable option.
He brings experience from top clubs and has won league titles in France, Italy and Germany.
However, Arsenal may not find the deal as easy as expected due to interest from Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Pro League clubs are ready to pay high wages to lure Coman to the Middle East.
This could force Arsenal to stretch their budget if they hope to convince him to choose London.
Talks between Arsenal and Coman’s representatives are ongoing, with no agreement reached yet.
Mikel Arteta sees the Frenchman as a strong addition who can provide cover and competition out wide.
The Gunners are aware they must act fast if they want to beat their rivals to his signature.
Arsenal are determined to strengthen the squad early in the summer to prepare for next season.
Their move for Coman shows intent, but financial power may decide where the winger ends up.
