Arsenal to ‘present an offer’ to sign Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal are reportedly ready to step up their efforts to sign Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic next summer, as per the Italian outlet Tutto Juve.
After cashing-in on Eddie Nketiah this summer, the Gunners didn’t make a move to sign a new striker to replace the Hale End graduate. As a result, Mikel Arteta has been left with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as the centre-forward options.
Having joined the club last summer, Havertz initially took time to settle down in his new surroundings but after being deployed in the false nine position, the German has been showcasing his qualities in recent times.
He has now secured his place as Arteta’s first-choice striker option ahead of Jesus. The Brazilian has found himself in the second-fiddle role at the club and his injury problems are the main reason behind it.
The North London club are now looking to sign a striker and according to the report by Tutto Juve, Arsenal like Vlahovic and they could ‘present an offer’ to secure his signature next summer.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
The report says Juventus have no intention of letting their star man leave and they are planning to open talks with him regarding a contract extension as his current deal will expire in less than two years.
However, if they can’t agree on fresh terms then they would be open to letting him leave but won’t allow his departure for cheap and could demand around £58m[€70m].
The Gunners’ interest in Vlahovic isn’t new as they attempted to sign him a few years ago but the player eventually decided to join Juventus by rejecting a move to the Emirates Stadium.
The forward is a highly talented player but hasn’t been able to flourish his career after moving to the Allianz Stadium. Having helped Havertz resurrect his career, Arteta is seemingly backing himself to do the same with the Serbian so he wants to hire the 24-year-old.
It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign the Juventus star next summer to reinforce the attacking department.
