Arsenal interested in signing Johan Bakayoko this summer
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko this summer, as per Het Belang van Limburg.
The Gunners have been looking to sign a new right-winger over the last few transfer window to support Bukayo Saka. Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Pedro Neto have previously been mentioned as potential targets, while Michael Olise has recently been suggested as a key option.
However, Arsenal haven’t opted to make a concrete approach to sign anyone yet so Saka has been playing almost every game for the North London club over the last few years. But, they could finally sign a new forward to manage the Englishman’s playing time next season.
According to the report by Het Belang van Limburg(via Liverpool World), Arsenal are interested in signing Bakayoko and they could make a concrete approach over the coming weeks.
Bakayoko to Arsenal
However, the report says that purchasing the Belgian won’t be straightforward for Arsenal as Liverpool are also keen on securing his signature ahead of next season.
It has previously been reported that PSV want a fee of around £43m to let their star man leave so Arsenal will have to splash a sizable amount of money to sign him.
Bakayoko was previously heavily linked with a move to Brentford and PSV even reportedly accepted a fee to let him leave, but the player eventually decided to reject a move to the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Belgian enjoyed a productive campaign in the recently concluded season, scoring 12 goals and registering nine assists in 33 Eredivisie appearances. Additionally, he guided his side to win the league title.
He is a dynamic forward and possesses the necessary attributes to flourish in the Premier League. He is quick, is efficient in linking-up the play, has an eye for scoring goals from distance and also can create chances for fellow attackers.
So, the 21-year-old would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to secure the Belgian international’s signature in the upcoming window to reinforce their attacking department.
