Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko this summer, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Having joined Marco Rose’s side from Leipzig’s sister club Red Bull Salzburg last summer, the 20-year-old initially struggled to play regularly at the Red Bull Arena this season.

However, following the departure of Timo Werner, Sesko has established himself as a regular starter in Rose’s starting eleven, scoring 17 goals and registering two assists in 21 starts in all competitions.

So, it seems having been impressed by the Slovenian’s displays in the German top-flight this term, the Gunners have registered their interest in signing him.

It has widely been reported that the North London club are set to prioritise strengthening their number nine position in the upcoming transfer window. Numerous names have already been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium with Joshua Zirkzee, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak being among them. But, Sesko is seemingly on their radar as well.

Sesko to Arsenal

According to the report by the MEN, Arsenal have registered their interest in signing Sesko and they could make a concrete approach in the upcoming transfer window. The report further claims that the striker has a £36m release clause in his deal and the clause can be activated this summer so Mikel Arteta’s side can manage to purchase the 20-year-old for a reasonable fee.

However, MEN states that purchasing Sesko won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Manchester United are also plotting a swoop for him.

The report says that the striker’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, was present at Old Trafford to watch the Gunners in action against Man Utd on Sunday so he might be there to hold talks with the representatives of both clubs over this deal.

Sesko, standing at 6ft 4in tall, is a highly talented striker and possesses the potential to become a top-class player in future. So, he could be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him.

However, the striker is still very young and could take time to settle down in the Premier League. So, the Leipzig star might not be able to help Arsenal achieve their lofty ambitions straight away if he joins the club this summer.
