Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Aston Villa – Trossard & Jesus start for Gunners
Arsenal will look to regain top spot in the Premier League table with a win over Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.
Manchester City moved to the summit with a 5-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday but Arsenal can reclaim first place if we beat Villa in North London today.
Mikel Arteta has made three changes from the side that drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich in the first leg of our Champions League quarter final on Tuesday night.
David Raya retains the gloves between the sticks while Ben White starts once again at right-back. William Saliba marshals the Arsenal defence and Gabriel Magalhaes is passed fit to start after recovering from a knock. Oleksandr Zinchenko made a difference off the bench in midweek and he’s recalled to start at left-back in place of Jacub Kiwior.
Declan Rice lines-up in midfield once again and is joined by skipper Martin Odegaard. It appears Rice will be playing in the deeper role with Kai Havertz dropping back into midfield. Jorginho drops to the bench today.
Gabriel Jesus starts in attack after an impressive cameo off the bench against Bayern Munich. Leandro Trossard is also recalled after scoring the equaliser on Tuesday night with Gabriel Martinelli making way. Bukayo Saka keeps his place on the right flank.
These are the teams:
Arsenal
Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Rice, Odegaard, Havertz; Saka, Jesus, Trossard
