Arsenal are ready to cash-in on Thomas Partey and Aaron Ramsdale to help fund Mikel Arteta’s summer transfer business, according to Football Transfers.

Ben White agreed to a new deal with the Gunners on Thursday. With the defender doing so, Mikel Arteta appears to have secured the futures of the majority of his key players, as shown below:

  • Benjamin White (2028)
  • William Saliba (2027)
  • Gabriel Magalhaes (2027)
  • Jurrien Timber (2028)
  • Martin Odegaard (2028)
  • Declan Rice (2029)
  • Kai Havertz (2028)
  • Bukayo Saka (2027)
  • Gabriel Jesus (2027)
  • Gabriel Martinelli (2028)
  • David Raya (Buy Clause)
  • Jakub Kiwior (2027)
  • Takehiro Tomiyasu (new deal to be announced soon)

Mikel Arteta clearly has a picture of players he wants to rely on for years to come. He should also have an understanding of which players he needs to add to his squad this summer to push Arsenal to the next level.

However, there are some players who definitely need to leave in order to make room for ‘fresh blood’.

Partey and Ramsdale

According to Football Transfers, Thomas Partey and Aaron Ramsdale’s time at the Emirates Stadium is coming to an end.

Ramsdale was unfortunate to lose his starting role to loan signing David Raya. Arteta must have recognized something in the Brentford goalkeeper that he needed in his goalie and opted to bring him on board.

Now, Ramsdale, valued at £26 million by Football Transfers, has become a backup. That is not ideal for a goalie who many expect to be England’s number one. The £30 million 2021 Arsenal recruit needs to resurrect his career, which is why he is certain to leave Arsenal in the summer.

Thomas Partey is also tipped to leave. While the Gunners have recently endeavored to ensure that a player does not reach the final few months of his contract, the Ghana international will, in the summer, be 12 months away from his contract expiring. And, with no contract negotiations underway, his future at Arsenal is not looking promising.

It’s likely he will leave owing to his injury struggles. Charles Watts, an Arsenal insider, revealed the club is willing to let the £45 million 2020 recruit from Atletico Madrid leave in the summer for the right price.

Arteta and Edu have done an excellent job at Arsenal, with all of their key players on long-term deals. It’s unfortunate that some players, like Ramsdale and Partey, must be sacrificed, but it’s for the better good of the team.

Arsenal can use the money raised from their sales to bring in new signings in the summer, with Arteta reportedly targeting a striker, winger and central midfielder.
