Arsenal ready to get ‘involved’ in ‘bidding war’ for Olise

By on January 12, 2024

Arsenal are reportedly ready to get ‘involved’ in the ‘bidding war’ to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, as per the transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Gunners have been exploring the possibility of signing a new right-winger over the last few years. However, despite being linked with numerous options, they haven’t opted to make a concrete approach to sign anyone yet.

Bukayo Saka is the only right-wing option Mikel Arteta has at his disposal so the Englishman has been playing almost every game for the North London club in recent times. Saka has looked tired a bit this season and as a consequence of that, he has been struggling to perform at his best in recent games.

So, it appears after getting concerned by Saka’s recent form, Arsenal have started to explore options in the market to sign a new right-winger with Olise now emerging as a serious option.

Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Jones has reported that Arsenal ‘really like’ Olise and they are ready to go all-out to purchase the Crystal Palace star this year.

The journalist further states that Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are also interested in signing Olise but Mikel Arteta’s side are ready to get ‘involved’ with their rivals in a ‘bidding war’ to purchase him.

Olise to Arsenal

Jones said:

“When they are weighing up options Michael Olise is someone they do really like in this position. Obviously if it comes to a time where there’s a bidding war for Michael Olise then you will have Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal all involved because that’s how good he is, those are the clubs who like him, Liverpool haven’t gone down that path yet, but why not Liverpool as well if they need to move on from Salah.”

It has been suggested that the Crystal Palace star has a £52m release clause included in his current contract and the exit clause can be activated next summer. So, Arsenal could wait until the end of this season to make a swoop for Olise.

Olise has showcased glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League in recent times so he would be a great coup for the North London club if they purchase him this year. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal can eventually manage to win the race to sign Olise by beating their rivals in this race.
