Arsenal have reportedly been showing an interest in signing Royale Union Saint-Gilloise star Mohamed El Amine Amoura in the upcoming transfer window, as per La Gazette du Fennec.

The 23-year-old has been enjoying a productive campaign for the Pro League side this season, scoring 13 goals and registering a solitary assist in 15 league appearances. The Algerian has also displayed his qualities in the European competition this term, helping his side beat Liverpool by putting his name on the score-sheet.

So, it seems Amoura’s recent impressive performances for USG haven’t gone unnoticed as he has already attracted a lot of attention from several big clubs around Europe with the Gunners among those to have registered their interest.

According to the report by La Gazette du Fennec, Arsenal have expressed their intention to sign Amoura and they could make a concrete approach to purchase him in the upcoming window.

However, the report claims that acquiring Amoura’s service won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion have also registered their interest in signing the African.

Amoura to Arsenal

Additionally, La Gazette du Fennec states Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also eyeing a swoop for him.

Arsenal have reportedly been exploring the possibility of strengthening their frontline in January. Several names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times with Ivan Toney being mentioned as the primary option. But, Amoura is now emerging as a new target.

The Algerian has showcased his talents in the Belgian top-flight in recent times so he could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal to reinforce their attacking department.

However, the forward doesn’t have much experience playing at the highest level so there is a question mark whether he would be the right option to help Arsenal achieve their lofty ambitions going forward.

So, I think Arsenal would be better off signing a more established striker to reinforce their attack. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to formalise their interest in signing Amoura in the upcoming window.
