Arsenal could make ‘stratospheric’ bid to sign Andre

Arsenal could reportedly make a ‘stratospheric’ bid to sign Fluminense star Andre Trindade in the upcoming transfer window, as per the Brazilian club’s president, Mario Bittencourt.

The Gunners have seemingly been exploring the possibility of signing a new deep-lying playmaker next year to deploy new summer signing Declan Rice in the box-to-box role and unlock his attacking potential.

Several players have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times with Arthur Vermeeren being among them, but Andre is reportedly on their radar as well.

It has previously been reported that Arsenal sent scouts to watch him in action in the Copa Libertadores final against Boca Juniors, where the midfielder helped his side become the champion of that competition, before making a move for him.

Now, Globo Esporte quotes Bittencourt as saying that Andre is expected to leave Fluminense at the end of this year and he might become the biggest sale of the club’s history.

The president further claims that they haven’t received any official proposal yet to sell Andre, but a ‘stratospheric’ proposal will come over the coming months from the midfielder’s potential suitors such as Arsenal.

Bittencourt said:

“We are waiting. Today, there is no concrete proposal for André. But we are sure that after the World Cup – he will play in the World Cup – a stratospheric proposal will arrive. It could be the biggest sale in the club’s history.”

It has been suggested that Liverpool are also keen on signing the Brazilian star so the North London club are set to face fierce competition from the Merseyside club in getting any potential deal done for him.

Fluminense are reportedly ready to let their star man leave if they receive an offer of around £30m so Arsenal can manage to purchase the midfielder for a reasonable fee should they make a concrete approach.

Andre is an extremely talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class midfielder going forward. With Thomas Partey struggling with injury issues, the Brazilian would be a great option to replace the African if they sign him next year.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to formalise their interest in signing Andre in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce their engine room.
