Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a swoop for Juventus star Federico Chiesa in the upcoming transfer window, as per the transfer journalist Ekrem Konur.

The Gunners are seemingly exploring the possibility of strengthening their frontline next year to challenge on all fronts going forward. Signing a new striker is reportedly the Emirates club’s priority, but acquiring the service of a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka is also on Mikel Arteta’s agenda.

Several names have been linked with a move to the North London club over the last few weeks, but Chiesa is now emerging as a serious option. The Italian is comfortable playing out on the left-flank, but can also be deployed in the centre-forward position and on the right-wing.

So, it appears the Juventus star’s versatility has attracted Arteta to register an interest in signing him as the Gunners’ boss likes to have players – who can play multiple positions.

Konur reports that (via Calciomercato), Arsenal are interested in signing Chiesa and they could make a move for him in the upcoming transfer window.

Chiesa to Arsenal

The report further claims that the Italian is willing to take a new challenge in his career and is ready to test himself out in the Premier League so he could be open to joining Arsenal.

However, the journalist states that Manchester United are also eyeing a swoop for Chiesa so the North London club are set to face tough competition from their rivals in getting any potential deal done for the forward.

The report says that Juventus could be open to cashing-in on Chiesa if his potential suitors such as Arsenal present an un-refusable proposal so Arteta’s side can purchase the winger if they make a concrete approach.

Chiesa, valued at around £39m by Transfermarkt – is deemed one of the best players in the Serie A so he would be a shrewd signing for Arsenal if they sign him in the upcoming transfer window. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Gunners eventually opt to formalise their interest in purchasing the Italian international.

Meanwhile, following a controversial defeat versus Newcastle United in the Premier League, Arsenal will face off against Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday night. So, Arteta’s side will be desperate to return to winning ways in this encounter.
