Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg youngster Oscar Gloukh, as per The Sun.

After moving to the Red Bull Arena last winter from Maccabi Tel Aviv in a £6m deal, the 19-year-old enjoyed a promising debut campaign in the Austrian Bundesliga last term, scoring twice and registering a solitary assist in eight league starts.

The youngster has continued his eye-catching performances in this campaign as well, scoring a solitary goal and registering as many assist in four league starts. After displaying impressive performances for Salzburg, the Israeli has already been awarded with a call-up to the national team and he has managed to establish himself as a regular member of Alon Hazan’s first eleven.

Therefore, it seems Gloukh’s recent promising performances for club and country haven’t gone unnoticed as he has started to attract the attention of several big European clubs with Arsenal among those to have registered their interest.

According to the report by The Sun(via the Mirror), Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Gloukh’s development ahead of a potential move in the upcoming window.

Gloukh to Arsenal

However, the report claims that acquiring the Israeli’s service won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Manchester United and Liverpool are also plotting a swoop for him.

Gloukh is a versatile player as he is an attacking midfielder by traits but can also be deployed in the box-to-box role. He is technically sound, comfortable with both feet, can play threading passes between the lines, has the ability to dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has the efficiency to finish off his chances and also can create opportunities for attackers.

The youngster is an extremely talented player and possesses high potential. So, he would be a shrewd signing for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they opt to acquire his service.

However, Arsenal are currently well-resourced in their attacking midfield department so they don’t need to invest more money to beef up that position.

Therefore, Arsenal would be better off exploring options to strengthen other areas of the squad. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
