Arsenal plotting swoop for Real Madrid star Tchouameni

By on June 29, 2023

Arsenal are reportedly plotting a summer swoop for Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni, as per Football Transfers.

It has widely been suggested that the Gunners are ready to spend big in this transfer window in order to strengthen their squad to challenge on all fronts from next season.

They have already signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea in a £65m deal and are inching closer to purchasing primary midfield target Declan Rice for a British record £105m fee. The North London club have been in talks with Ajax to sign Jurrien Timber as well and they have submitted a £41m bid to secure his signature.

It appears Arsenal aren’t going to halt their transfer spree just here as they are planning to sign another midfielder this summer with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia being mentioned as serious targets.

However, writing on Football Transfers, transfer journalist Jacque Talbot has reported that Arsenal could make a move for Tchouameni if they fail to broker a deal for Caicedo or Lavia.

Tchouameni to Arsenal

The journalist further claims that having signed him last summer, Real Madrid won’t let their star man leave for cheap and want at least £86m[€100m]. So, Arsenal will have to break the bank to secure the Frenchman’s service if they formalise their interest.

Although Tchouameni struggled to showcase his best in his debut campaign at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu last term, he is an extremely talented player and possesses the potential to become a world-class midfielder going forward.

The 23-year-old likes to play as a deep-lying playmaker but can also be deployed in the box-to-box role. He is dynamic, technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, has an eye for scoring goals from distance and also can contribute defensively as well.

With Arsenal looking to sign two midfielders this summer, Tchouameni would be a great acquisition if they sign him this summer and watching a midfield trio of Rice, Martin Odegaard and the Frenchman would be a mouthwatering prospect for the North Londoners.

However, after spending £105m to sign Rice, it is looking highly unlikely that the Gunners will splash the reported £85m fee to sign Tchouameni as well this summer.
