Arsenal learn price tag of midfield target Yunus Musah
Arsenal have been made aware that they will have to spend £17m to sign Valencia star Yunus Musah this summer, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It has widely been reported that the Gunners are keen on bolstering their engine room in this transfer window. They have been linked with numerous options over the last few months with Declan Rice being mentioned as the primary target.
However, it has previously been reported that the North London club are interested in bringing their academy star, Musah, back to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
After coming through the Hale End academy, the USA international opted to join the Valencia B team back in 2019 before establishing himself as a regular first-team starter at the Estadio Mestalla.
Writing on Twitter, Romano has reported that Valencia are ready to cash-in on Musah and they are prepared to accept a fee of as little as £17m[€20m]. So, Arsenal could manage to sign the American for a bargain deal if they formalise their interest this summer.
Musah to Arsenal
However, the journalist says that Arsenal are set to face tough competition from Chelsea and AC Milan in getting any potential deal done for Musah as they have also expressed their interest in signing him.
Romano wrote:
“Valencia are open to sell Yunus Musah this summer after they turned down all approaches last January, including a verbal bid from Chelsea. Understand €20m fee could be enough to sign USMNT midfielder. AC Milan have included Musah in their list.”
Musah likes to be deployed as a box-to-box midfielder. He is quick, technically sound, has an eye for long-range passing and works extremely hard without possession.
The 20-year-old is a talented midfielder and could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal if they decide to purchase him this summer. However, the youngster is still a raw talent and needs time to develop his career.
So, given the Gunners are planning to rebuild a squad that can challenge on all fronts from next season, Musah would not be an ideal option to help them achieve their lofty ambitions straightaway. Therefore, Arsenal would be better off exploring more experienced midfielders to strengthen their engine room in this transfer window.
