Arsenal plotting summer swoop for Premier League quartet

Declan-Rice

Arsenal are reportedly planning to sign Premier League quartet Ilkay Gundogan, Moises Caicedo, Mason Mount and Declan Rice this summer, as per Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

It has been suggested that the Gunners are ready to remain active in the upcoming transfer window and are set to splash the cash to strengthen the squad in order to challenge on all fronts from next season.

Midfield is an area that Mikel Arteta has seemingly prioritised to bolster during the off-season and Arsenal have been linked with numerous options ahead of the summer transfer window. Rice has been suggested as the North London club’s primary target but Gundogan, Caicedo and Mount are also on their radar as well.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Sheth has said that Arsenal are looking for a major midfield overhaul this summer and are planning to sign Gundogan, Rice, Mount and Caicedo.

The journalist further claims that Arsenal’s resurgence under Arteta and the Champions League qualification will help them attract world-class talents in this summer window. So, Arsenal could manage to secure all four midfielders’ signatures during the off-season.

Arsenal plan midfield reinforcements

When asked whether Arsenal could look to sign Gundogan, Rice, Mount and Caicedo this summer, Sheth said:

“Yes, we believe they[Arsenal] are, and if you look at those names[Gundogan, Rice, Mount and Caicedo], this is the kind of market Arsenal are dealing in now.”

“It’s amazing what a title challenge, but more importantly, qualification to the Champions League can do. You’re going to be playing at European football’s top table, which also equates to more money but also equates to going into the market at Europe’s top table as well.

“So, players that maybe they wouldn’t have been able to go for when they hadn’t got Champions League football suddenly become options for Arsenal.”

However, purchasing all four midfielders won’t be easy for the Gunners as Manchester United have also been showing interest in signing Rice, Mount and Caicedo, while Barcelona have been credited with an interest in Gundogan.

It has been reported that Arsenal will have to spend £170m combined to sign Caicedo and Rice, while Chelsea want at least £55m for Mount. So, Arsenal will need to shell out £225m to sign the midfield quartet this summer as Gundogan will be available for free if he doesn’t sign an extension with Manchester City over the coming weeks.

Gundogan, Rice, Mount and Caicedo will certainly strengthen the Gunners’ engine room and they will definitely help Arsenal in competing in all competitions next season should they join the club this summer.

However, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal manage to pull off all four deals if they decide to formalise their interest during the off-season.

Chelsea and Man City won’t sell to a potential rival, and Arsenal can’t afford Declan. So, probably means Caicedo from that lot. As for attracting better quality players because of being in the CL… Those players better not blink or they’ll miss it (given Arsenal won’t be in it for more than five minutes).

Man City sold two top players to Arsenal last summer, remember?
And obviously with your access to Arsenal’s finances no one would be in a better position to make a judgement on who we can afford to sign or not.
You really sound like a miserable troll. It’s such a shame that Arsenal didn’t quite make it this season because if they had your tune would have been very different – bask in their success and write them off when things don’t go so well – sounds just like you.

City have no say in where IG goes. He’s a free agent (although I expect Barca to offer him a huge deal). Now if you were talking about Cancelo… (but you weren’t)

Chelsea haven’t sold a player to Arsenal since… oh, yes – the last transfer window. I don’t expect Mount to want to come, although it would be his best choice. I expect Poch to be smart enough to put a stop to the sale entirely.

“Can’t afford Declan”? You do realise how much money finishing second and being in the CL brings in, right?
