Arsenal will travel to London Stadium to face off against the relegation-threatened West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners will be coming into this game off the back of a hard-fought 2-2 draw versus Liverpool last weekend. Following that result, Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table has now reduced to six points, having played an extra game than title rivals Manchester City.

The North London club will be looking to return to the winning ways immediately on Sunday and maintain the gap up top.

However, West Ham will be hoping to come away with a positive result from this fixture to stay away from the bottom three, sitting only three points ahead of the drop zone. So, Arsenal will have to be at their best away from home to win against David Moyes’ side this weekend.

Expected Arsenal line-up

Mikel Arteta is expected to field an unchanged starting eleven from last weekend’s Liverpool fixture. Aaron Ramsdale is guaranteed to keep hold of his place in the Arsenal goal after a brilliant display last time out and Matt Turner will have to settle for a place on the bench.

William Saliba remains sidelined due to a back issue so, Rob Holding is expected to continue at the heart of Arsenal’s defence alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, meaning Jakub Kiwior is set to be among the substitutes once again.

Ben White is likely to start in the right-back position, while Oleksandr Zinchenko could be on the opposite flank, leaving Kieran Tierney on the bench. Takehiro Tomiyasu isn’t in contention to feature after being ruled out for the rest of the season owing to a knee injury.

Thomas Partey will continue as the deep-lying playmaker and in front of the Ghanaian, Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard should be the two advanced midfielders. Meaning Fabio Vieira, Jorginho and Emile Smith Rowe will be among the Arsenal substitutes once again.

Following an impressive performance at Anfield last weekend, Gabriel Martinelli is set to keep hold of his place on the left flank for Arsenal and Bukayo Saka should commence on the opposite side. Gabriel Jesus is expected to continue leading the line for Arteta’s side.

Eddie Nketiah – valued at around £22m by Transfermarkt – should return after recovering from an ankle issue, but he will have to make do with a place among the substitutes alongside Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson.
