Arsenal ‘pushing hard’ to sign Dusan Vlahovic in January
Arsenal are reportedly ‘pushing hard’ to sign Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the January window, as per the Italian outlet Calciomercato.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a decent first half of this season before the World Cup break, scoring seven goals and notching up two assists in 15 appearances in all competitions.
The Gunners appear to be one of the clubs who are set to remain busy in this upcoming winter window. Mikel Arteta has recently confirmed that the club’s hierarchy have already started to explore the market to bolster the squad next month and they will make moves if the right target is available.
According to the report by Calciomercato, Arsenal are ‘pushing hard’ to sign Dusan Vlahovic in January. However, they will face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United in getting this deal done.
The report further claims that Juventus are reluctant to sell the player – who joined the club last January – in mid-season. However, the Bianconeri could change their stance and let the highly-talented forward leave if Arsenal were to offer a whopping £70m fee next month.
Dusan Vlahovic to Arsenal
Dusan Vlahovic could be a great signing for Arsenal. The 22-year-old is quick, strong, good in the air, has an eye for scoring goals and works hard without possession. He is also deemed one of the best young strikers in Europe right now.
Arteta is in need of another striker after losing Gabriel Jesus for three months due to a knee injury. So, the Serbia international would certainly strengthen the attacking department if Arsenal were able to get this deal over the line this winter.
However, with the north London club looking to strengthen multiple areas in January, it is highly unlikely that the Gunners would spend the reported £70m fee on one signing.
Therefore, although Vlahovic would be a great acquisition to help Arsenal push for the title after the new year, completing a deal for the hitman is probably unrealistic this winter.
