Yeremy Pino ‘more appealing’ option for Arsenal over Zaha

Arsenal are reportedly more interested in signing Villarreal forward Yeremy Pino than Wilfried Zaha, as per the transfer journalist Dean Jones.

The Gunners appear to be busy in offloading their fringe players – who aren’t in Mikel Arteta’s plans – at the moment and after finalizing their sales, the north London club are expected to intensify their desire of adding more firepower to their squad.

It is an open secret that Arteta’s side are looking to add more options in their midfield and the flanks before the end of the transfer window and Pedro Neto, Yeremy Pino, Moussa Diaby and Wilfried Zaha are all being mentioned as potential targets for Arsenal in order to strengthen their wide areas.

Speaking on GiveMeSport, Dean Jones has claimed that Wilfried Zaha isn’t the main target for Arsenal at this stage, rather Yeremy Pino is a ‘more appealing’ option for the Gunners. But, things might get interesting regarding Zaha to Arsenal in the coming days.

Jones said:

“He’s[Wilfried Zaha] not the main man Arsenal are thinking about at this stage, as far as I know, Yeremy Pino is more appealing, but this one could become interesting.”

Arsenal want Pino over Zaha

I think Pino would be a better acquisition for Arsenal over Zaha. The youngster is only 19, has plenty of room to develop and has the potential to become one of the best forwards in the world in future.

On the other hand, despite possessing enough qualities, the Ivory Coast international has failed to showcase his talent on a regular basis at Selhurst Park and is often accused of being an inconsistent performer. So, the north London club would not want to sign a player who struggles to showcase his talent regularly, given they are rebuilding a squad to challenge for big prizes.

Therefore, the Villarreal winger would be a more suitable option for Mikel Arteta’s side. The Spanish boss has managed to develop several young players during his time at Arsenal and should Pino join the club then he would also be able to learn under his compatriot’s tutelage and flourish at the Emirates Stadium.

Although the 19-year-old is a talented footballer who has showcased his qualities in La Liga, the youngster still needs time to develop and the fans should be patient with the Spaniard if he ends up joining the club this summer.
