[Photos] New Arsenal signing involved as Emery takes charge of 1st training session
Some of the Arsenal players are back at London Colney to begin pre-season training and Unai Emery has taken charge of his first session since being confirmed as our new manager.
Emery replaced Arsene Wenger at the end of last season and the former Paris Saint-Germain boss has been putting the players through their paces in north London along with assistant Juan Carlos Carcedo today.
Some players are still enjoying a well-earned break following their exploits at the World Cup while the likes of Granit Xhaka, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Danny Welbeck and David Ospina are still over in Russia.
However, new signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos was at London Colney today as he began his Arsenal career after sealing a move from Borussia Dortmund on Monday evening.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey, Hector Bellerin, Sead Kolasiac, Petr Cech and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were among the first team regulars to take part in training this afternoon as none were involved with their countries this summer.
Calum Chambers was also involved and the centre-back will no doubt have been keen to impress the new boss after being rewarded with a new long-term contract recently.
