[Photos] 17-year-old wonderkid trains with Arsenal squad ahead of League Cup clash
Reiss Nelson trained with the first team squad today as the Arsenal players undertook their final preparations ahead of Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup clash with Doncaster.
We welcome the League One side to the Emirates for our League Cup third round tie and Nelson is expected to be handed his full debut after coming on for the final minutes against Cologne last week.
The 17-year-old has been hugely impressive for the U23’s so far this season having scored six goals so he certainly deserves an opportunity with the first team tomorrow night.
Fellow youngsters Josh Dasilva, Eddie Nketiah, Chuba Akpom, Marcus McGuane, Joe Willock, Deyan Iliev and Ainsley Maitland-Niles will also be hoping to be involved after training with the main squad today.
Alexis Sanchez was one of the more senior players at London Colney this afternoon so we could see him involved against Doncaster as he looks to work his way back to full match fitness.
Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers were put through their paces by the boss today after he confirmed they will both make their first starts of the season tomorrow night.
The likes of Laurent Koscielny, Hector Bellerin, Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette were all absent at training indicating they won’t be involved against Doncaster.
