Arsenal hold talks with La Liga attacker, £21m deal could happen
According to reports in Spain via the Mirror, Arsenal have held transfer talks with the agent of Arda Turan over a possible £21m switch from Barcelona this summer.
Despite a growing number of fans calling for him to leave when his contract expires next month, Arsene Wenger looks increasingly likely to stay and overhaul his squad following a disappointing campaign.
The boss is going to freshen up his attacking options as Alexis Sanchez is being tipped to leave Arsenal having failed to agree terms over a new deal and there very little chance he’ll stay if we miss out on the top four.
It looks like the club are already working on potential replacements as the Mirror are citing a report coming from Mundo Deportivo that claims Arsenal have identified Turan as a potential new recruit.
The newspaper says we’ve already held talks with Turan’s agent about a move to north London this summer with the attacker ready to leave the Nou Camp in search of regular football.
The 30-year-old has struggled to hold down a first team place at Barca since joining the club from Atletico Madrid in 2015 and the report suggests the Spaniard’s will be open to doing a deal at just £21m.
That seems incredibly cheap in today’s market for a player of Turan’s quality so we should be making every effort to sign him if he is available for that sort of money.

Obviously Turan isn’t on the same level as Sanchez but we’re going to struggle to find someone who is and the Turkish international would be a solid addition to the squad.
He’s predominantly a winger but can play in a central attacking role too so Turan would give us plenty of options in the final third if he ends up joining Arsenal this summer.
