[Photos] Arsenal boost as injury doubt trains ahead of FA Cup tie
Arsenal look to have been handed a boost with Lucas Perez snapped in training today ahead of our FA Cup clash with Preston North End tomorrow.
Perez was considered as a doubt for the match after Arsene Wenger revealed at his press conference yesterday that the striker was facing a late fitness test on an ankle injury.
The Spaniard sustained the problem during his substitute appearance against Bournemouth on Tuesday night that saw him score a stunning volley as we came from 3-down to draw 3-3.
However, Perez has now been pictured taking part in training at London Colney this afternoon so it looks as though he’s managed to shrug off the ankle injury and should be in contention to start against Preston tomorrow evening.
Wenger is set to rotate his squad with the boss taking the opportunity to rest some of his key men with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech among those given a breather.
Danny Welbeck could make his first appearance in the squad in over seven months after recovering from a knee injury but Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil have been ruled out of the game.
Youngsters Reiss Nelson, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Ainsley Maitland-Niles were all involved in training with the first team today so could be in the squad tomorrow.
