Arsenal Star Leaves French Camp On Crutches After Suffering Injury
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is expected to travel back to London for test after picking up a calf injury while on international duty with France.
Giroud started for the French team and played 80 minutes during their thrilling 4-3 defeat to Belgium on Sunday.
However, as the squad were being put through their paces ahead of Saturday’s clash with Albania, L’Equipe claim Giroud went down clutching his calf in training yesterday.
The Arsenal forward received treatment on the sidelines before having his leg strapped and he left the session early on crutches.
According to Ben Dinnery – who works as an injury analyst for the likes of ESPN and Physio Room – Giroud is now expected to be released from international duty and head back to Arsenal for further tests.
Obviously it’s too early to say how serious the injury is but lets hope it’s nothing too serious as the last thing we need is one of our key men missing the start of pre-season training through injury.
