Video Highlights: David Ospina’s MOTM Display For Arsenal v Everton

By on March 2, 2015

David Ospina put in a Man of the Match performance as Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

I’ve not been a huge fan of the Colombian’s since he replaced Szczesny in the starting eleven as I haven’t been convinced he’s an improvement on the young Pole.

However, fair play to Ospina he was excellent yesterday. He wasn’t called into action that often but when he was needed, he produced the goods.

The best save of the game was a fine tip over from a Lukaku effort while he also did well to keep hold of a close range shot from Lennon. David was also good in the air as he made a brave punch under pressure from Lukaku in the second half.

But perhaps the key moment of the game was when Ospina came flying out to deny Lukaku when he was clean through in the first half after a mistake from Gabriel.

I’ve been calling for Szczesny to be recalled recently but more display’s like this and I may be forced to change my mind…..
