Arsenal Offer Three-Year Deal To 19-Year-Old Striker

Arsenal have offered highly-rated striker Chuba Akpom a new three-year deal to try and tempt him into staying at the club, according to the Independent.

Akpom has risen through the youth set-up since joining the club at the age of six and he’s now pushing for a place in the first team having been promoted to the senior squad.

The 19-year-old is highly-rated at the club and has made three appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side this season but his future is in serious doubt.

Akpom has just six months left on his contract and is now free to speak with foreign clubs about a free transfer move in the summer with the likes of Feyenoord, FC Twente and Borussia Dortmund all understood to be interested, while there is also plenty of interest from the Premier League.

Arsenal are understandably desperate to try and secure his long-term future and the Independent claim we’ve now offered the striker a new three-year deal.

Akpom is now mulling over whether to remain at Arsenal and fight for his place in the team or leave in the summer and join a club where he’s more likely to get regular playing time.

The player is clearly keen to start making his name at the highest level but I hope he shows a little patience and opts to extend his stay at Arsenal. He’s got the potential to be a real talent and I’d hate to see him slip through our fingers.
