Arsenal plot swoop to sign Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi

Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign AFC Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi, as per Caught Offside.

Following Gabriel Jesus’ move to Barcelona, the Gunners currently have Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres as options to deploy in the centre-forward position.

The Swedish international was purchased from Sporting CP last summer to address the No.9 issues. Although he was Arsenal’s top scorer last term and helped them win the Premier League title, he displayed inconsistent performances.

As a result, Mikel Arteta has decided to keep faith in Havertz since his return from injury problems. So, it appears the North London club want a new striker.

Now, Caught Offside claim that although Kroupi is set to remain sidelined for several months due to his recent injury, Arsenal are still interested in signing him.

The Gunners are unlikely to secure his services before the end of this transfer window, but they are ready to make a move once he returns to full fitness. Arsenal see Kroupi as a long-term attacking reinforcement.

However, the Emirates club will have to overcome a fierce battle to seal the deal as Manchester United and Liverpool have been monitoring his situation closely.

Kroupi to Arsenal

They have already held talks to learn about his availability, but Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal are cautious about spending a huge fee amidst his injury absence.

The 20-year-old joined Bournemouth from Lorient last summer. So, he still has a contract until 2030 and is valued at around £60m by Transfermarkt. Therefore, the Cherries aren’t in any rush to sell him.

Kroupi showed glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League last campaign, scoring 13 goals. He is a centre-forward by trait but is comfortable in the second striker role.

Kroupi is quick, possesses a poacher’s instinct inside the box, has an eye for scoring goals from distance, and works hard without possession.

He is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to reach the top. Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services.
