Arsenal keeping a close eye on Newcastle’s Bazoumana Touré

By on October 15, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a swoop to sign Newcastle United forward Bazoumana Touré, as per Caught Offside.

The 20-year-old came into the spotlight having displayed promising performances for Hoffenheim last term. In 30 Bundesliga appearances, he made 14 goal contributions.

After being impressed by him, the Magpies decided to purchase him this summer. He has mainly featured as a rotational option under Matthias Jaissle this season; still, he has shown glimpses of his qualities, scoring twice.

After impressing at club level, Touré has secured his place in the Ivory Coast national team and was part of their World Cup squad this summer.

Now, Caught Offside state that before Touré’s move to Newcastle this summer, Arsenal kept a close eye on his development and have continued to monitor his performances in the Premier League. They could even make a move in January or next summer.

However, the North London club will have to overcome several obstacles to seal the deal as Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Aston Villa have also been scouting him.

Having joined the Magpies this summer, Toure still has a contract until 2031. Newcastle spent around £42m for him and are expected to demand a way more than that sum to let him leave next year.

Toure to Arsenal

Toure is a left-footed left-winger by trait but is also comfortable on the opposite side. He is rapid, technically gifted, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas and works hard without possession.

Arsenal currently have Christos Tzolis and Eberechi Eze as specialist left-wing options. Moreover, Noni Madueke can provide cover in this position if needed, although he is a right-winger by trait.

However, Tzolis is set to remain sidelined for a few weeks due to an injury issue, while Eze likes to be deployed in the CAM role. As a result, Mikel Arteta is seemingly considering signing a new left-winger.

If Toure impresses in the Premier League this season, Arsenal could do with signing him next year. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services.
