Arsenal hold talks to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Can Uzun

By on October 23, 2026

Arsenal have reportedly made contact to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Can Uzun, as per Caught Offside.

After moving to Deutsche Bank Park from FC Nurnberg a couple of years ago, the 20-year-old initially took time to settle into his new surroundings.

However, he showed glimpses of his qualities last term, making 15 goal contributions in all tournaments. This season, Uzun has taken his game to another level, scoring four goals and registering three assists in six appearances across all competitions.

Having displayed eye-catching performances in the German top-flight, Uzun has secured his place in the Turkiye national team.

Now, Caught Offside state that Arsenal are interested in signing Uzun after being impressed by his recent eye-catching performances and have already held talks over a potential swoop.

However, with the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029, Frankfurt don’t want to let him leave unless his potential suitors trigger his £50m[€60m] release clause.

The report state that Arsenal don’t see the 20-year-old as a priority target and have no intention of buying him by matching the German side’s asking price.

Apart from the North London club, Everton, Aston Villa and Brighton and Hove Albion are also interested in him, while Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Napoli previously expressed their interest in him.

Uzun to Arsenal

Uzun is a 6ft 1in tall right-footed creative midfielder. He is technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, is efficient in finishing off his chances, and can create opportunities for the attackers.

Uzun is a talented player and possesses high potential. Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future should they purchase him.

However, Arsenal currently have Martin Odegaard as the first-choice No.10. Moreover, Mikel Merino and Eberechi Eze can provide cover in this area if needed, while Max Dowman is emerging.

Meaning, the Emirates club don’t need a new creative midfielder unless anyone leaves. Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure Uzun’s services in January or next summer.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are set to face Everton in the Premier League this weekend.
