Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing AFC Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, as per iNews.

The Gunners currently have Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as options to deploy in the centre-forward position. However, Jesus has failed to flourish in his career since joining from Manchester City due to fitness problems.

Now, the Brazilian has entered the final 10 months of his current contract, and speculation surrounding his future has been emerging in this window.

On the other hand, Havertz has been featuring regularly in recent times but has also had injury problems. Arsenal purchased Gyokeres from Sporting CP last summer to address the No.9 issue.

He was the Emirates club’s top scorer last term and helped them win the Premier League title. However, the Swedish international displayed inconsistent performances.

So, it appears Arsenal are considering signing a new striker this summer and have reportedly identified Atlético Madrid star Julian Alvarez as a serious option.

But iNews report that Arsenal are also interested in signing Kroupi, although he has been out injured. Apart from Mikel Arteta’s side, Liverpool are also eyeing a move for the Bournemouth forward.

Kroupi to Arsenal

Kroupi moved to Vitality Stadium from Lorient last summer. So, he still has a contract until 2030, and the Cherries aren’t in any rush to sell him, with the player valued at around £60m by Transfermarkt.

Kroupi enjoyed a promising debut campaign in the Premier League last term, scoring 13 goals. He is a striker by trait but is also comfortable in the second striker role.

Kroupi is quick, possesses poacher’s instinct inside the box, has an eye for scoring goals from distance, and is also efficient at taking penalties. Moreover, he works hard without possession.

The Frenchman is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a world-class striker in the future. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services this summer or next year.

Meanwhile, following a comfortable 3-0 victory over newly promoted side Coventry City, Arsenal are set to take on Aston Villa at Villa Park in the Premier League on Monday.
