Ezri Konsa ‘interested’ in joining Arsenal this summer
Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa is ‘interested’ in signing for Arsenal this summer, according to CaughtOffside.
Few Premier League centre-backs can rival Konsa when it comes to reliability and availability. The former Brentford man has established himself as one of the league’s most dependable performers, rarely missing matches and consistently delivering whenever called upon.
That durability is reflected in his record over the past four league seasons, during which he has sat out just 11 Premier League fixtures. His regular presence has been a major factor behind Villa’s progress, including two top-four finishes across the last three campaigns.
The 2025/26 season was another outstanding one for Konsa, as he featured 48 times in all competitions and played a pivotal role in helping Villa bring their 30-year wait for major silverware to an end by lifting the UEFA Europa League.
His outstanding consistency was also recognised on the international stage, earning him a place in Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man England squad for the FIFA World Cup, where he made six starts.
Konsa ‘interested’ in joining Arsenal
Now, according to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are considering making a big-money move for a centre-back this summer and have earmarked Konsa as their top target.
In a boost to the Premier League champions, the report adds that the England international would be ‘interested’ in joining Mikel Arteta’s side should a move be formalised this summer.
However, although Arsenal are still in the race for Konsa alongside Liverpool, a major hurdle in the deal is Aston Villa’s £60m valuation, which the Gunners deem too high, according to the report.
As a result, Arsenal have now turned their attention to other targets, with CaughtOffside adding that West Ham United’s Konstantinos Mavropanos and Como’s Jacobo Ramo have also been included in the club’s shortlist of potential centre-back options for this summer.
While there were no obvious cracks at the backline in the Gunners’ 4-1 pre-season win over Girona on Saturday, they will face a much more formidable challenge in the Premier League when the league resumes.
As such, Arsenal need to find a suitable deputy at the back while William Saliba recovers from injury, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the club meets Villa’s £60m valuation, negotiates a lower fee, or explores alternative targets. £60m star ‘interested’ in joining Arsenal
