Arsenal interested in signing Leipzig star Antonio Nusa
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig forward Antonio Nusa, as per The Sun.
After being impressed by the 21-year-old’s performances for Club Brugge, the German side decided to purchase him a couple of years ago.
He initially took time to settle into his new surroundings before showing glimpses of his qualities last term, making nine goal contributions across all competitions.
Having impressed in club football, the youngster secured his place in Norway’s World Cup squad, helping his side reach the quarter-final before losing to England.
Now, The Sun report that after failing to purchase Morgan Rogers, Arsenal have shifted focus to Nusa to reinforce the left flank. With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029, Leipzig have slapped a £51m price tag on his head.
However, the Gunners will have to overcome stiff competition to seal the deal as Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and AS Roma are also interested in him.
The Rossoneri have earmarked Nusa as a potential replacement for Rafael Leao. On the other hand, Roma have already held talks with the player’s representatives and are ready to submit a £38m bid to test Leipzig’s resolve.
Nusa to Arsenal
Meanwhile, the report state that although Spurs are eyeing a move for Nusa, they need to offload attackers first, with Manor Solomon and Mikey Moore attracting attention.
Despite winning the Premier League title last term, Arsenal struggled to score goals from open play. So, they are planning to revamp the frontline this summer.
After cashing-in on Leandro Trossard, the North London club have already purchased Christos Tzolis but want another left-winger. They also have Gabriel Martinelli as a left-wing option, but the Brazilian has entered the final 12 months of his current contract.
A plethora of names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with Nusa being among them. The Norwegian is a talented left-winger and possesses high potential. Therefore, he could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services in this summer transfer window.
