Arsenal in talks to sign Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen

By on April 30, 2026

Arsenal have entered the race to sign prolific Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray next summer, according to Tuttojuve.

The Nigerian international has been one of the most prolific and consistent centre-forwards in Europe in recent seasons.

Throughout the 2024–25 summer transfer window, a switch to Chelsea dominated the headlines, yet negotiations between both sides ultimately broke down, bringing the move to a halt.

A defining trait often associated with Lagos-born Nigerians is their ability to thrive in any environment, and Osimhen demonstrated exactly that after joining Galatasaray, where he played a key role in guiding the club to their 25th Süper Lig title and 19th Turkish Cup title.

Even though he joined three weeks after the campaign had already begun, the 26-year-old still secured the 2024–25 ‘Gol Kralı’Kralı’ award as the league’s leading scorer with 26 goals.

With 27 goal contributions in all competitions for Galatasaray, the 27-year-old is yet again set to become highly sought after next summer, with several clubs now showing interest.

Among the clubs looking to sign Osimhen is Arsenal, according to Tuttojuve, which claims that Mikel Arteta’s side have entered the race to sign the 6ft 1in centre-forward next summer.

The report adds that the Gunners’ sporting director, Andrea Berta, was also present at the Rams Park on Sunday in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Fenerbahce to closely watch Osimhen, who is also of keen interest to Barcelona.

It appears the North Londoners are accelerating their efforts to sign him, as the Italian outlet reports that Berta has initiated contact to explore a possible transfer of the prolific forward to the Emirates Stadium.

Osimhen only joined Galatasaray permanently last summer on a four-year deal, so a deal won’t be easy unless Arsenal submit a significant offer above his £64m Transfermarkt valuation.

Following their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg, Arsenal have now equalled their longest ever unbeaten run in a European competition after previously going 13 games without defeat between March 2005 and April 2006.

They’ll hope to set a new club record when they host the Rojiblancos at the Emirates Stadium next week, but first they face a tough Premier League clash at home against a European-chasing Fulham side on Saturday.
