Arsenal showing ‘genuine’ interest in signing Morgan Rogers

By on February 27, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly showing a ‘genuine’ interest in signing Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, as per TEAMtalk.

Since moving to Villa Park from Middlesbrough a couple of years ago, the 23-year-old has established himself as an integral part of Unai Emery’s starting line-up.

This season, Rogers has been displaying impressive performances, scoring 10 goals and registering seven assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

He has been helping his side mount a top-four charge in the Premier League and has guided Emery’s team to qualify for the Europa League’s round of 16.

Having proven his worth in the Premier League, Rogers has secured his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England national team’s starting line-up.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that after being impressed by the forward’s impressive performances, Arsenal have started showing ‘genuine’ interest in signing him.

However, with Rogers’ existing deal set to run until 2031, Aston Villa aren’t in any rush to sell him and have no intention of parting ways with their talisman this year.

However, if they are eventually forced to cash-in on him, they want more than a club record fee. Jack Grealish’s £100m move to Manchester City is currently their record departure.

The report state that Villa’s stance won’t be the only obstacle for Arsenal to seal the deal as Liverpool and Manchester United are also keen on him. Moreover, Chelsea are currently the most determined to sign Rogers.

Rogers is a versatile player as he is a creative midfielder by trait, but is also efficient on the left flank. Furthermore, he can provide cover on the right if needed.

Arsenal currently have Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze as options to deploy in the No.10 position. However, the Norwegian has struggled to showcase his best thus far this season, scoring a solitary goal across all competitions.

On the other hand, Eze has displayed inconsistent performances; still, he has made 12 goal contributions in all tournaments.

Rogers is currently one of the best CAMs in the Premier League, so he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his service in the upcoming summer transfer window.
