Arsenal ‘keen’ on signing Wolves forward Mateus Mane

By on February 21, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly ‘keen’ on signing Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Mateus Mane, as per Caught Offside.

The Gunners enjoyed a stellar first half of this season but have struggled to showcase their best this year, accumulating only 10 points from the last seven Premier League fixtures.

The disappointing midweek draw against Wolves proved to be a huge blow to Arsenal’s title charge. They went 2–0 up before squandering the lead late in the second half.

Currently, Arsenal have a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, having played an extra game, with Manchester City sitting second with 53 points from 26 games.

Nevertheless, the North London club can win the league if they win their remaining matches. On the other hand, they have reached the final of the Carabao Cup and the Champions League round of 16. Arsenal are still in the FA Cup; therefore, they have the opportunity to win the quadruple this season.

Meanwhile, with the summer window approaching quickly, Arsenal have already started exploring options to strengthen the squad. Caught Offside claim that Mikel Arteta’s side are planning to sign a new wide forward and have earmarked Mane as a serious option, after being impressed by his development this season.

Mane to Arsenal

The Emirates club are ‘bid admirers’ of the 18-year-old and are ‘keen’ on purchasing him during the offseason. Wolves have given up hope of keeping hold of their player as they are set to endure relegation.

However, Rob Edwards’ side don’t want to sell him for cheap as his existing deal is set to run until 2029 and want at least £50m.

The report state that purchasing Mane won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Manchester United and Liverpool are in this race as well. The Merseyside club are even prepared to launch a formal proposal; as a result, they are currently the frontrunners to finalise the operation.

Mane has shown glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League this season and would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to secure his service ahead of next season.
