Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Nathaniel Brown, as per TEAMtalk.

The 22-year-old started his youth career at TSV Kümmersbruck before joining Jahn Regensburg. He moved to FC Nürnberg back in 2016, and after coming through their youth system, he secured a place in their first team.

Having been impressed by the youngster’s performances at Max-Morlock-Stadion, the Eagles decided to sign him a couple of years ago.

He enjoyed a promising debut campaign in the Bundesliga last term, making nine goal contributions and keeping five clean sheets. Moreover, he helped his side secure Champions League football by finishing in the top four.

This season, Brown has continued to display eye-catching performances, making seven goal contributions and keeping three clean sheets across all competitions.

Having shown glimpses of his qualities at Deutsche Bank Park, the defender has secured his place in Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany national team.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Brown has attracted a lot of attention from the Premier League, with Arsenal showing a keen interest in signing him. They have been monitoring his development closely before making a potential swoop.

However, Manchester City and Manchester United are also in this race, with the Red Devils intensifying efforts to seal the deal. They sent scouts to watch him in action closely against Tottenham in midweek. Therefore, the North London club will have to overcome stiff competition to finalise the operation.

Although Brown’s current contract is set to run until 2030, Frankfurt might be open to cashing-in on him next summer should they receive an offer of around £40m.

Brown is an attack-minded left-back by trait and is also comfortable in the LWB position. He is extremely quick, technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, and is efficient in defensive contributions.

Brown is a talented player and could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, having already got Piero Hincapié, Riccardo Calafiori, and Myles Lewis-Skelly as options to deploy in the left-back position, they don’t need to invest more to add further depth to this area.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service this year.
